Easy-Avo®

Easy-Avo® is a mid-late, green-skinned cultivar selected in California and taken under Master Licence by Westfalia Fruit. Flesh peels easily from the skin and can be popped out without scooping.

Pinkerton

The Pinkerton is green-skinned with a pear shape. It is known for its prolific yields and mild, nutty flavour.

Dusa®

Dusa® is the dominant leading avocado rootstock worldwide. It demonstrates good performance under various growing conditions. They are more root-rot tolerant and productive than Duke 7. Dusa® is widely planted in avocado-producing regions.

Reed

Reed fruit are round and can weigh more than 500g each, being one of the largest avocado varieties. Reed is sometimes used as a pollinator for Hass.

Fuerte

Fuerte is pear-shaped green skinned avocado cultivar that stays green when ripe.

Zerala™

Zerala™ rootstock is resistant to Phytophthora cinnamomi and offers a noticeable advantage in saline soils. It supports large canopy volumes and competitive yields, preferring well-drained soils or berms.

Lamb Hass

Lamb Hass is a late-maturing cultivar with larger fruit size compared to Hass. Unlike Hass, it may turn dark before ripening while still on the tree.

Hass

Hass is the most common commercial avocado cultivar in the world. It is known for its good eating quality and post-harvest characteristics.

Leola™

Leola™ is selected from a Westfalia Fruit screening programme and demonstrates a strong tolerance to Phytophthora cinnamomi. When grafted with Hass and GEM®, it offers competitive yields and excellent tree health.

Carmen®-Hass

Carmen®-Hass is a relatively new cultivar tending to flower continuously. It forms up to three distinct sets of fruit within a year. In subtropical regions it usually flowers earlier and produces fruit that matures 4 to 6 weeks earlier than Hass.

Zentmyer

Zentmyer is a vigorous rootstock with strong tolerance to Phytophthora cinnamomi, but is highly salinity-susceptible. It performs well with Hass and Gem® cultivars in the absence of salts.

Ryan

Late-season Ryan is a large, egg-shaped fruit with a rough green skin. It is easy to peel and tends to have a large seed.

Edranol

Edranol is a vigorous-growing cultivar with pear-shaped avocados that are medium in size with thin, rough, green skin.

Duke 7

Duke 7 outperforms other local rootstocks and was South Africa’s industry standard.

Steddom

Steddom exhibits high tolerance to Phytophthora cinnamomi and grows slowly when grafted with Hass.

Uzi

Uzi is an extremely vigorous and fast-growing rootstock with high tolerance to Phytophthora cinnamomi. When grafted with Hass in a low salinity environment, it can induce a vigorous tree and high yields.

Ettinger

Ettinger trees produce bright-green fruits with a light-yellow flesh and are mostly used as pollinator trees in Hass orchards.

GEM®

Covered in golden specks, the gourmet GEM® has a creamy, sweet and nutty taste. GEM® is farmed worldwide by growers licensed to Westfalia Fruit.
